75 Years of Batman

Batman is celebrating his 75th birthday this year and fans all over the world are treated with events showcasing the caped crusader's history throughout the years.
A group of toy collectors from the South of the Metro got invited to exhibit their Batman figures and vehicles at SM BF, Paranaque in October 24-31, 2014.

The many faces of Batsie. One side of the mini theater.
Fans were also treated to a special screening of Batman's various vehicles from 66 up to The Bat.

The event would not be complete without showcasing some Batman action figures and some of Gotham City's key characters. I also got to display some of my action figures and vehicles together with my fellow toy collectors from the south of the Metro -- Jeffrey Velasquez and sons, Raffy Panganiban, Karsen Bob Teh, PJ Arcellana, JC Rivera and Liam Caballes.

Truly a great year for Batman fans, not only we're being bombarded with tons of collectibles but also, we get to celebrate Batman's history and introduce him to the new generation of Batman fans. Cheers, Batman! And please watch your back. :)

Batman @ 75

I spent the entire weekend just watching Batman movies since he turned 75 in March 31. Batman is one of my favorite characters and year after year DC has managed to elevate Batman as the thinking man's super hero. Was given time also to take some Batman pictures using PlayArts Kai Dark Knight and DC Variant. Nothing fancy, just placed the figure in front of an LCD screen, placed some props and there you have it. :)

Happy 75th Birthday, Bats! :)

The Death of Superman

I have been waiting a 'killer' Doomsday from DC Universe Classics or DC Collectibles but, it never came. So, imagine my reaction when a friend customized this figure -- my jaw dropped and uttered: "Let's kill Superman"

Bat Family In Action. Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl.

Here's another set of action scenes featuring DC Universe Classic's Batman, Nightwing and Batgirl. I used the same technique shown earlier in my Canary and Arrow in action shots. :)

 "You fly, I'll slide"

Shot taken from another perspective.

"Two for two..."

 More action shots soon. :)

Farewell...

Ending 2013's Valentine special with DC in love -- or maybe not.

Batman and Wonder Woman

Last year, DC surprised everyone when they finally made Superman and Wonder Woman a couple. Probably the most powerful couple. Ha!

So....Farewell, Bruce.

Green Lantern and Star Sapphire

Carol's love for Hal made her a member of the Star Sapphire. Love, being on the extreme side of the color spectrum borders obsession. Despite the love-hate relationship, at the end of the day, Hal's love for Carol will always prevail.

"Walk away, Hal..."

Toy Photography Monthly Challenge

I'm an active member of Toy Photography page on Facebook. Monthly, the administrators post a challenge and its members are encouraged to submit their entries. Earlier today, they released the top 5 best toy pictures in our January challenge 'silhouette'. One of my images got selected among hundreds. :)

The page also released the images for the best toy shots for the month of January and my Corpse Bride shot also made the list among hundreds of images.

The Bride is Coming....

It really feels good to have your pictures posted alongside other great toy photographers. :)

DC Comics' New 52 Action Figures

I grew up watching Superfriends with my brothers and sister. It was one of those rare moments where we just sit down and not fight about toys. Aside from toys, I also collect comic books. When DC announced the overhaul, I had my doubts. Besides, I want to read about  and see my superheroes exactly the way it was before. But, change is inevitable. The characters need to evolve and appeal to the mainstream audience.

I subscribed to the comic books and Justice League, Wonder Woman, Batman, Action Comics and i-Vampire became my instant favorites. And I was so looking forward to the action figures that will be released. In December 2012, I finally got my gift set (also bought the individual figures but will remain mint on card forever -- lol). So, I would like to share with you some of my shots of the New 52 big 6. Still need to take Flash out for a spin later this month. :)

Wonder Woman “Go in peace my daughter. And remember that, in a world of ordinary mortals, you are a Wonder Woman.” Queen Hippolyte

Cyborg "I got this..."

Superman  "…For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you… my only son." -Jor-El

Batman "I must be a creature of the night. Mommy's dead. Daddy's dead. Brucie's dead. I shall become a bat"

Green Lantern "...beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"

Aquaman "...I will defend earth's oceans."

The Dark Knight Rises

Dark Knight Rises is my favorite movie for 2012. I'm a fan of anything Batman and recently of the Movie Masters toy line by Mattel. Shorter than the regular DCUC figure but maintains the same level of articulation. I made a huge diorama to capture some of these scenes:

"The Fire Has Started" featuring Movie Masters Batman and Bat-pod

Catwoman in "Leather and Bike" decided to convert this image in black and white.

More image soon, but for now, let me share with you my behind-the-scene so will have have an idea on how huge the diorama I have created. :)

Earth's mighties will soon just be a dust...

In creating my flight or action scenes, I use a string to tie my figures and position them in a dynamic way. Then using Photoshop, I delete the strings.

I will show you some behind the scenes soon so hit the follow button :)

Test of Time

February. Love month. Ha! I have created some intimate images of some famous toy couples. I had a blast doing this project. This one is dedicated to my one true love. :)

DC Direct/Collectible's Hawkman and Hawkgirl in "Test of Time". A silhouette shot using only a white background and a single light source.
