Inside Out

Inside Out is an animated film by Disney Pixar. I have not seen it yet but, based from the trailer, it's a comedy-adventure film that revolves around the mind of Riley and her 5 emotions. The movie is set to be released locally sometime next week.

Now, let's talk about the toys. Got the 5 figures from Toy Town a few days ago because once the movie is released, we all know what will happen. By opening weekend, these figures will be gone. Have not seen the console yet and I'm itching to get my hands to get Bing Bong, too.

Shot was inspired by the movie poster and I replaced the image with my figures.

Let's meet the gang one by one:

JOY.  The figure comes with a memory orb. The height is 5 inches from the tip of the hair to the base. With 7 points of articulation: (1) Head; (2-5) Arms, Left and Right [sideways and back and forth] (6-7) Legs [sideway].

I just love Joy's facial expression and the skirt is made of soft plastic. The figure lights up when placed near the HQ Console (sold separately).

SADNESS. Like with all of the figures, Sadness comes with a memory orb. Stand about 3 and 1/2 inches and with 5 points of articulation: (1) Head (2-5) Arms, Left and Right [sideways and back and forth].

This is my favorite among the figures because she is so darn cute! There is no leg articulation on Sadness, though. The figure lights up when placed near the HQ Console (sold separately).

DISGUST. The figures comes with a memory orb. The height is 3 and 1/2 inches from the tip of the hair to the base. With 7 points of articulation: (1) Head; (2-5) Arms, Left and Right [sideways and back and forth] (6-7) Legs [minimal back and forth].

Like with Joy, Disgust's skirt is made of soft plastic and lights up too when near the console (sold separately).

FEAR. The figures comes with a memory orb. The height is 4 and 1/2 inches from the tip of the hair to the base. With 6 points of articulation: (1-4) Arms, Left and Right [sideways and back and forth] (5-6) Legs [minimal back and forth].

I just love the look on Fear's face. Too bad, there is no head articulation on this one.

ANGER. The figure comes with a red memory ord and the fire on his head can be removed. Stand about 4 inches (with fire) and 2 1/2 inches (without fire) and with only 4 points of articulation: (1-4) Arms, Left and Right [sideways and back and forth].

Note: I edited the flame using CS. Please see picture below for the actual flame.
Overall, TOMY did a fantastic job with these figures and I hope the HQ console will also be released locally.

Baymax!

Big Hero 6 is the hotly anticipated animated film from Disney. Movie is based from Marvel comics with the same title. This is now being shown here in Manila and 3 weeks ago, the toys were released in the local market. I found myself completing the set weeks after its movie release because we all know what happens when you wait for the movie to be released -- by weekend opening, all the good stuff are gone.

The toys are awesome! There are 6 types of Baymax released (including the plush) but I did get the Armor Up Baymax because this is scale to the other characters released. This version is just like enjoying both worlds, if you want just the regular Baymax you can remove the armor unlike the other versions. The figures are well articulated thank you, Bandai! Will review the figures on my next post.

Got a total of 7 figures. Didn't get the small Baymax (4 inches) since it is really out of scale.

Spent an entire week to finish a diorama in time for the movie release. :)

We are ready!
Like with my other posts, will show you next time the behind-the-scene. :)

Thanks!

Fix-It-Felix!

Wreck-It-Ralph is one of my all-time favorite animated films. And earlier this year, I decided to create a diorama based on Disney's animated film as my entry in the 2014 Toy Convention held at SM Megamall, Manila. From the interior (buildings with furniture and light) to the exterior -- arcade style :)

Shot taken from the outside. I placed a blue LCD to make it more arcade-ish.
But, you can also take out the building from the arcade. I'm Gonna Wreck It!
I'm Gonna Fix It! The interior has furniture. The building is just made up of styro board.

This is what it looks like from a far. Got all the buttons (non-working of course) haha and acrylic that acted as the screen since glass is too heavy.

Will show you next time how I have created the diorama (hope I can find all the images in my mobile) hehe.

Well, Well.

Taking a break from taking pictures of action figures and borrowed my niece's doll. Maleficent is one of this year's blockbuster hits. I ordered this doll from the US because it was not released locally. Was hoping for a more articulated doll, but still worth my moolah. Aside from Maleficent, the line also released Aurora (picture coming soon). Another version was released including the winged Maleficent but, too pricey. This was made by Jakks Pacific toy company.

I asked a friend to customize the staff and the crow and it turned out pretty well. :)

A part? How lovely.
Well, well

I, too, shall bestow a gift on the child.

Pixar's UP

Finally decided to take some pictures of the diorama I made from Pixar's UP. This piece won 2nd place in the 2013 Toy Convention held in Megamall, Manila.

The house is entirely made of foam board, lots and lots of popsicle sticks and a ton of patience. :)

I miss you, Ellie.

What do you want, kid?

Start of a new adventure :)

Tangled. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

Tangled is one my niece's favorite films. When I saw the movie, I was totally mesmerized especially the lantern part. So, when I saw my niece's Tangled toy by Mattel, I replicated my favorite part of the film -- the lantern scene.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in "Now I See The Light"

I used an LCD screen as a background. I used dodge tool to highlight some of the lanterns. I duplicated the layer, transformed it (inverse) before adding some ripples effect all in Photoshop. :)

Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack and Sally.

Continuing my Valentine's Day special with famous couples this time from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas featuring Jack Skellington and Sally. I find Sally's character very depressing -- well at least at the early part of the film. Of chasing the one you love and unsure if the love will be reciprocated. But, when they confessed their love for each other, the scene became an instant classic.

This image won 2nd place in the 10th ToyCon ToyClicks contest held in Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall, Manila in 2011.

I used a lampshade for the moon. The base is just made of old dailies, wire and stryroam for the gate. Made the picture interesting by capturing it in black and white. The image below is the base I used for this shot:

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Lock, Shock and Barrel. As I have mentioned before, I love stop-animation films and The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favorite films.

These three little mischievous children made the movie more interesting. We all know how the story went, they kidnap Santa Claus so on and so on. But, I made a twist to their twisted tale. On their way to Christmas Town, as the snow began to fall, they can't help to be just--HAPPY.

They are happy while stalking Santa...HA!

I made the diorama using styro painted it with acrylic before covering with moss and some glitters. Painted some branches white and I used a lamp for the moon. I added the falling snow using Photoshop and you can download your brushes here: http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/photoshop-snowflake-brushes-collection/ but, these brushes are for personal use only. :)
