Diorama (God of War)

Just want to share the diorama I made couple of months and I'm finally taking Kratos for a spin this weekend. The Gates of Tartarus. :)

Made the columns using corrugated board. Added a board as support.

Painted it using acrylic.

After cutting the board, I applied plaster then immediately decorated it. I'm still yet to paint it but, I like the texture and color as it is.

'Will post the final product next week. :)

My Top 2013 Conventions

2013 was a great year for Toy Conventions and one of my goals this year is to attend more cons and have one helluva time!

2013 was a great year for me. I was able to exhibit my toys and joined in various contests. And I would like to share my top 5 events I have attended in 2013 be it toy convention, press launch etc. long as it has comic books, toys and geekiness.

I have excluded HEROCON2013 since I'm an active member of the board. :)

Cosplay Photography

I have high respect to people who cos-play. It's not an easy task to wear a suit, sweating inside just so they can put a smile to other people. What many don't know is how much effort are being put through to cos-play. Some spend so much moolah just to be the costume accurate. Many commute carrying their heavy costume from north to south.

They go to conventions and people flock to take pictures of them. They have become an integral part of any toy conventions and they contribute greatly to the success of it.

Still finding my niche in this form of photography but for me, the 3 most important things are: (1) Lighting (2) Location, and (3) The willingness of the cosplayer to try different poses.

Fortunate to have close friends who are willing to pose in front of my camera. :)

Can't wait for more photo shoots with cosplayers this year :)

2013 HEROCON

HEROCON 2013

The newly formed group Heroes Are Us spearheaded this project as a Toy Drive for the survivors of typhoon Yolanda and Gawad Kalinga Maralit. Like with others toy convention in the country, there were toy displays, diorama, selling, cosplay, contests and of course gift-giving and toy donation.

The event kicked off with Herbie on display a week before the event.

December 20, 2013 was devoted purely for selling. As a toy collector, this is usually my favorite part of any convention. Items ranging from action figures, comic books, stuffed toys to cosplay materials.

Cosplay Galore!

Diorama display by TS1:18 featuring G.I. Joe and Transformers cross-over.

Was able to display some of my Masters of the Universe Classics action figures.

Panel discussion with Direk Peque Gallaga, Lori Reyes, Anna Larruchea and Janus del Prado (from the hit show way back, Batang X) and Jeffrey Benitez of Pinoykon on the future of Pinoy Superhero.

John Arcilla serenaded the crowd and helped in awarding Jolina of Gawad Kalinga a college grant from the Mayor of Paranaque City.

The event also marked the partnership between Heroes Are Us and iCOZPLAY.

Me, just having a blast :)

More pictures coming soon. :)
